I just read Ode's article about the unlikely promises of Zero Point Field again (in Dutch). In the comments someone tells about a child asking "Daddy why do we write the number zero as a circle?".
Great to see sometimes how kids won't take anything for granted. "Why? Why? Why!?" Ofcourse when I read that question I asked myself the same: "Indeed, why a 0 ?". Here's the answer:
